What I'm Reading - May 14, 2019

Although the Book Date link-up happens weekly, I've had trouble keeping up with a weekly schedule, so I've decided to try for every other week! And that worked okay, except that I've been so busy recently that I haven't done it for about a month! I haven't had much time for reading either, but here's the latest from my reading list.

I finished reading . . . 

Shadow among Sheaves by Naomi Stephens - This story is set in England and based on the Biblical story of Ruth. A British widow returns to England with her widowed Indian daughter-in-law.  Recent clashes between British imperial forces and their Indian subjects have caused most of their English neighbors to be suspicious and prejudiced, and the two women face destitution.  (Read my full review HERE)




The Governess of Penwythe Hall (The Cornwall Novels) by Sarah E. Ladd - In her role as governess Delia Greythorne goes with the recently orphaned children to their new guardian in Cornwall. Jac Twethewey is surprised to suddenly have five nieces and nephews in his care, and captivated by their governess. (Read my full review HERE.)

A Dangerous Collaboration (A Veronica Speedwell Mystery) by Deanna Raybourn - one of my favorite series and authors! Veronica accompanies Stoker's brother to an island estate to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a woman several years earlier.



The Rock, the Road, and the Rabbi: My Journey into the Heart of Scriptural Faith and the Land Where It All Began by Kathie Lee Gifford - Gifford describes her personal experience and lessons learned on a trip to the Holy Land with Bible teacher Ray Vander Laan, with additional insights from Rabbi Jason Sobel
