Scripture and a Snapshot - Joy, Peace, Hope

For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
And of the greatness of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this.

~Isaiah 9:6-7~

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

~Romans 15:13~

  2. I suppose this makes me a child of my generation but I always think of Linus quoting this verse to Charlie Brown.

    1. I think a lot of us in different generations "hear" this in Linus's voice!

  4. I have such good memories of our whole family reciting Isaiah 9:6 at the breakfast table!
