Teach us to number our days,
that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
May the favor of the LORD our God rest on us;
establish the work of our hands for us --
yes, establish the work of our hands.
~Psalm 90:12, 14, 17~
If anyone feels like they don't have enough time in the day, it's mothers. We all need to number our days wisely, of course, and find our joy and gladness in God, but this struck me as something so important for moms. We feel like our work is never-ending and we have a tendency to wonder whether we're doing enough, whether we're good enough, and so on. And oh how we hope that we are raising our families right!
Dear Lord, teach us as moms to be wise with the moments and days and years you've given us. Remind us to be satisfied with your love that never fails. Help us to find our joy in you, and for that joy to spill over into everything that we do. And oh Lord, we need your favor and your guidance. Establish the work of our hands for us, God. Amen.
Happy Mother's Day!

It is so true - as a mother and now a Mimi, there aren't enough hours in a day. May God give me wisdom in using the time He has given to me! Happy Mother's Day!
ReplyDeleteThe sweet sentiments you shared today are foundational to the title of my blog. Our lives are a sum total of minutes, and as we are "living our days" we are making choices that will impact on the life we will have lived when all is said and done.
ReplyDeleteBlessings to YOU on this Mother's Day.
