Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?"
"Yes, Lord," she replied, "I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world."

Let's just take a moment to appreciate this bold and insightful declaration of faith from Martha. She knew who Jesus was, and despite her pain and grief at the death of her brother, she confessed her belief that their dear friend Jesus was the very Son of God and the promised Messiah.
Watching the trees and plants go dormant is a wonderful time to reflect on these verses. Yes, I do believe that much the way they will all have life in the spring once again, we too, shall one day spring to eternal life. Have a blessed Sunday!
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous tree. And what an even more beautiful truth. And it's neat that I *just* read that first verse before using the computer this morning. That bedrock faith in the Lord will carry us through.
