Advent Scripture and a Snapshot - Rejoice!

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord."

~Luke 2:8-11~

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.

~Philippians 4:4-5~

  1. I always think of Linus and Charlie Brown when I read this scripture. I guess I am a child of the 70s. I love that Charles Shultz brought it home to children all over the world like this.

  2. May we rejoice in our Savior, even when we cannot rejoice in our circumstances. In Him, we find cause for great joy.

  3. "The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight." So many of God's promises through the ages came to fruition in Jesus' birth.

  7. I think the shepherds in the field and the angels coming is one of my very favorite parts of Jesus Coming story!
