December's Books Completed and Reviewed

The Darcys of Pemberley by Shannon Winslow - An enjoyable and very well-written sequel to Austen's classic. (Read my review HERE.)
The Darcys of Pemberley (The Darcys of Pemberley, #1)

Until the Dawn by Elizabeth Camden - Beautiful story that reminded me a little bit of Jane Eyre, set in the Hudson River Valley.  (Read my review HERE.)

A Christmas Escape: A Novel by Anne Perry - A quick holiday cozy set in the Mediterranean. (Read my review HERE.)

A Christmas Escape (Christmas Stories, #13)

Star of Wonder: A Novella (The Incense Road Book 1) by Tracy L Higley - The first of a three-part story based on the journey of the magi to see the newborn King of the Jews. (Read my review HERE.)

Star of Wonder (The Incense Road #1)

Holiday Buzz (A Coffeehouse Mystery) by Cleo Coyle - A cozy-style mystery set in contemporary NYC at Christmastime. (Read my review HERE.)

Toward the Sunrise: An Until the Dawn Novella by Elizabeth Camden - Serves as an introduction to Until the Dawn. (Read my review HERE.)

During December I continued reading:

The Fatal Tree (Bright Empires) by Stephen R Lawhead - actually I finished it, but the review still needs to be written! Maybe today, but I won't hold myself to that.

The Fatal Tree (Bright Empires, #5)

During December I started reading:

Worship Changes Everything: Experiencing God's Presence in Every Moment of Life by Darlene Zschech - for some reason I take much longer to read non-fiction.

Odd Thomas: You Are Destined to Be Together Forever (Short Story) by Dean Koontz, followed by Odd Thomas: An Odd Thomas Novel by Dean Koontz - The short story was a super-quick read and I liked it well enough to continue on to the first full-length novel in this series. I decided to read it because this is one of my husband's favorite authors, and one of my December reading challenges was to read a book that is a friend's recommendation.

A Taste of Traditional Regency Romances: Extended excerpts of Regency novels (Bluestocking League Book 1) by Gail Eastwood, Camille Elliot, April Kihlstrom, Vanessa Riley, Regina Scott - Finished the first two excerpts in this collection and really enjoyed both of them.

A Royal Pain: A Royal Spyness Mystery by Rhys Bowen (audiobook) - I also take a long time with audiobooks, mostly because I don't seem to have (or make) enough opportunity to listen!

Coming Up in January!

David and Bathsheba by Roberta Kells Dorr
Into the Whirlwind by Elizabeth Camden
White Nights and Other Stories by Fyodor Dostoyevsky
A Beauty So Rare (A Belmont Mansion Novel) by Tamera Alexander

As a birthday treat, my husband took me to Longwood Gardens. We spent Monday afternoon and evening in the conservatory and walking around admiring the Christmas light displays. I'll be sharing more pictures at Homeschool Coffee Break soon.
